India Book House opened its operations in March 1993 with a humble newsstand in the city of Chicago with a mission to make available books, magazines, newspapers, and periodicals to the Indian and Pakistani communities in the USA.​

This newsstand gave way to the current bookstore in a short period, which was officially inaugurated by the doyen of Indian cricket world Mr. Kapil Dev in July 1995. Thus began the unending journey to transform buying of books, newspapers, magazines, and periodicals into the easiest, and most enjoyable shopping experience possible. While our customer base and product offerings have grown considerably since our early days, we still maintain our founding commitment to customer satisfaction and the delivery of an educational and inspiring shopping experience.

Where We Are Today: Today, India Book House is a store to find and discover anything you want related to books and magazines from Asia. We're very proud that most of the ethnic Asian crowd in Chicago and neighboring cities and states has made us the leading and most popular book store in the American Mid-West. We have one of the most diversified collections of books and magazines and with advent of time we have also included in our portfolio sale of Music CDs, DVDs, Indian Handicrafts and more.​
